Cable Protection for the Portal North Bridge
The century-old Portal North Bridge turntable is being replaced with an elevated bridge to provide reliable train service for over 200,000 passengers who commute from New Jersey to New York City daily. Roman Stone’s articulated concrete mattresses and a submersible installation frame will be used to provide cable and scour protection for a new power transmission cable crossing the Hackensack River.
